Watercolour challenges
Welcome to this page where you can take part in simple art challenges and in process learn more about watercolour painting. The challenges started as a response to Coronavirus outbreak and what followed a postponement or cancellation of all my courses and workshops. Painting for me is a therapeutic and calming so I thought that by encouraging others to paint I can contribute to well being of others.

About challenges
These challenges are simple and and should be completed in under an hour. Here you can find a photo that you can paint from and recorded video of me painting with voice over instructions to help you understand what I am doing.
I will aim to post one every second day.

Who is it for?
The challenges are aimed for those who already tried watercolour and have a simple understanding of watercolour techniques. If you have a simple watercolour set and you have used it before – this is for you!
I tried to keep them simple so you can follow up – but the aim is to paint, not to create a beautiful art. Focus on the journey not the destination!

Materials Needed
You are going to need a basic watercolour set up including:
- watercolour paints (ideally in tubes)
- watercolour brushes ( 3 is enough, large, medium and small)
- watercolour paper (300g CP)
- palette or something you can use as a palette (plate, tray etc)
- container for water
- paper towels
- haidrier (to speed up painting)
- pencil and eraser
- printer, phone, laptop or tablet (to work from photo references)
