Plein Air Painting Talk

 Dunmore East

Recently I had the opportunity to paint alongside other artists from South East Pleiner society in Dunmore East. This was my first time there and I was blown away and absolutely mesmerised by this picturesque town.
I set up my easel at the first location overlooking the bay and painted for 2 hours.
After a short break and s walk around the town I set up and painted another one in the harbour.

The experience!

I know a couple of years back I wouldn’t have been able to paint so comfortably outdoors. Like everything it takes practice and it took me forever to reach this stage where i am comfortable at painting out in the open. Looking back I wish I had gotten some advice at the beginning or had someone to talk to.

I know some of you are at that beginners stage now or maybe just thinking about it, and I am delighted that together with Sheila Mac Nally we can share our experiences, some good and some bad, offer advise, show you our different set-ups, so it covers different mediums and everything else you need to know about plein air painting.

The talk is free, and you are invited to join myself and Sheila this Thursday at 6.30pm
in Gorey Art Collective, Trillium House, Gorey.

I will be also giving a plein air painting workshop on Saturday, May 23rd, Gorey. Limited places available (8), cost €30. All materials supplied. Contact me if interested.
