Demonstration in the Pigyard Gallery

Last Saturday in the Pigyard Gallery I had the pleasure of giving a full demonstration on floral watercolor painting. I painted harebells, which (as I found out from one of the attendees) are native to west of Ireland. You can find more information about those lovely bells here (with the distribution in Ireland map).
There was a small crowd including other artists and watercolor enthusiasts. The whole painting was done without sketching first and that allowed me to focus more on the flow and to use the accidental quality of washes. Crowd seemed to enjoy it and there was plenty of questions throughout the two-hour demo. The lucky person that won the painting was Stella who happen to own 2 other of my watercolors. At least I know that it is going to someone that really likes my style! Trish and Tony from the gallery were most helpful with setting this first demo in the Pigyard Gallery – hopefully one of many! I was quite impressed with the professional lighting which made the process of painting very comfortable and I’m thinking of copying this set up in my studio.
Exhibition continues to run till the 1st of March and you can see it on Selskar Street, Wexford Monday -Saturday 10am – 6pm.

Below some photos from the opening of the exhibition and from the demonstration. Thanks to everyone for coming!
